Mike Barnett brings almost three decades’ of sales and technical support experience to his new position at the UK’s leading supplier of industrial robots and automated production systems.
He will be responsible for targeting new business in the electronics and pharmaceutical industries as well as expanding sales in the plastics and composites sectors.
Mike, from Thringstone, Leicestershire, has extensive expertise in the extrusion equipment market thanks to previous sales management roles at Renmar Machinery and MIR.
"I’m delighted to join KUKA at a time when the company is expanding its operations because of the substantial growth in demand for industrial robots. Automation is the way forward for the UK manufacturing sector if it is to compete effectively against competition from the Far East," commented Mike.
KUKA has recently opened a new facility near its Halesowen headquarters for its spares and after-sales support operation as well as the assembly and testing of robot cells. Visitors to MACH 2008 will be able to find out more about KUKA’s latest developments on stand 4895, Hall 4, at Birmingham’s NEC from April 21-25.
