The position involves the acquisition and development of new business; long-term global account management, business forecasting and reporting; sales of standard product and customized solutions within profit margins to Continental and its channel partners.

 

Responsibilities and duties:

  • Overall responsibility for the global account, to foster growth, profitability and customer satisfaction
  • Develop and drive account plans incl. business case (prizing strategy, frame agreement definition and customer service strategy) and ensure it is aligned with the overall group strategy
  • Create and execute strategies to maximize business opportunities and make sure that the company maintains and improves its position, as a supplier of choice
  • Make opportunities visible and identify target projects
  • Understand customer business model and supply chain (including strategy, global structure and buying center)
  • Manage the Total Customer Relationship
  • Plan, facilitate and conduct complex negotiations
  • Promote frame agreements with the account
  • Act as focal reference for problem resolution and monitor the account claims
  • Provide regular reports, briefings and reviews, as required
  • Support on the preparation of proposals with cost estimates and present to all relevant stakeholders within the customers’ organization
  • Schedule project reviews and ensure successful delivery of all projects
  • Travel to customer facilities
  • Communicate, motivate and coach the team
  • Leadership role and facilitate team selling in a virtual organization
  • Coordinate global strategic and regional sales activities within assigned key account, incl. sales-push of new-technologies
  • Participate in the target setting process for the local key accounts, support them in reaching their targets and coordinate sales resources allocation
  • Achieve planned profitability level together with regions, business units and divisions

 

Profile:

  • Four year college degree in a relevant business or engineering discipline or exceptionally, several years of highly applicable directly relevant experience
  • Experience in global account management
  • Minimum of three years continuous and successful experience in robotics or process automation
  • Direct experience with Continental and/or Tier1 Automotive practices and procedures
  • Experience dealing with customers including sales, problem resolution, negotiation skills, and relationship building
  • Networking and leadership skills
  • Proactive characteristics with positive attitude
  • Ability to work in a collaborative matrix sales leadership role
  • Energy, passion and commitment to success
  • Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills are essential
  • Lateral management skills
  • Strong spoken and written English is essential for relationship building, negotiating at the highest level and representing the company both in verbal and written form, German language skills will be an added value, as HQ is based in Germany
  • International experience and/or in an international environment is suitable
