Thesis in Augmented Reality / Virtual Reality development for robotics

In an ongoing project with several students the goal is to implement and test use cases for Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality glasses (MS HoloLens, HTC vive) for robotics. The development is done in Unity with C#. Also modern communication interfaces are used.

Your Tasks:

The master thesis should clarify one of the following challenges:

  • Common plattform for 3D objects for KUKA

  • Procedures to introduce AR/VR

  • Technical analysis of different implementation concepts


To prove the concepts part of the work should be:

  • Implementation of prototypes to show potential of AR and VR glasses

  • Present the prototypes in the regular demos of the development teams to mixed user groups to collect feedback

  • Test prototypes with users in production or with potential customers

Your Profile:

  • Student (m/f/d) of Computer Sciences, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics

  • Programming skills are mandatory, preferably in C#, Java, Unity

  • Good communication skills
