Field Service Engineer

Responsibilities

Responsible for executing assigned robotic/automation jobs, including onsite installation, troubleshooting, and repair and follow up on service escalations. Seeks sales opportunities while ensuring customer satisfaction.  Keeps accurate records of service calls, maintains inventory of service parts, tools, and test equipment. Services are provided in-house, on-site and/or via telephone.  Provides on-the-job training opportunities and coaching/mentoring for upcoming Field Service Technicians.  Travel 70% - 80%.  Follows safety practices as defined by the Company and/or the customer's site safety code. 


Profile

  • Bachelor degree (BSEE/BSC/BSME) from an accredited four-year college or university plus 5 years of related technical/engineering experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to travel to customer sites (intercontinental and occasional international travel of varying length) on short notice to respond to customer emergencies and frequently requires the ability to work long hours to meet customer needs.  

  • Ability to read electrical and controls prints typical in factory automation systems.  

  • Familiarity with KUKA robots, DeviceNet, Daimler Integra Standard, and Siemens ProfiNet and ProfiSafe is a plus.  

  • Able to work split shifts, weekend and holiday work is required.  

  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills required.  

  • German language skills a plus.
