KUKA at Hannover Messe 2018

Under the motto "iintelligence 4.0_beyond automation", KUKA will be presenting the automation solutions of the future at Hannover Messe from 23 to 27 April 2018.

KUKA demonstrates the future of intelligent production

iintelligence 4.0_beyond automation”: the new KUKA slogan reflects the evolution of Industrie 4.0 in recent years. During this time, KUKA has laid the foundation for networked, intelligent production – with great success, as already demonstrated by the interaction of the real and digital worlds in numerous companies.

This year, KUKA is taking intelligent production to the next level in what we call “industrial intelligence 4.0” (in short, “iintelligence 4.0”). The basis for this is KUKA’s automation expertise, which has expanded to embrace new technologies for artificial intelligence, deep learning and big cloud analytics (“_beyond automation”). The “ii” in our slogan not only refers to our collaborative LBR iiwa robot, but also links to the term “IIoT” (“Industrial Internet of Things”).

This year, we are taking the next big step with ‘iintelligence 4.0_beyond automation’. I look forward to welcoming you in April to our booth focusing on the topics of cobots, intelligent machines, logistics as well as cloud & connectivity.

Wilfried Eberhardt, Chief Marketing Officer, KUKA AG

KUKA highlights at Hannover Messe

KUKA is celebrating an anniversary in 2018: 120 years since the company was founded. To mark this occasion, KUKA has prepared something very special for visitors to Hannover Messe. Get ready for the exciting interplay of various KUKA small and lightweight robots as they manufacture customized anniversary souvenirs in the smart factory.

You will also be able to experience the topic of human-robot collaboration (HRC) and additional (further) developments from KUKA first hand at our booth.

This year, the smart factory will again be at the heart of the KUKA booth.

At the neighboring booth of connyun, a start-up founded by KUKA, you will also be able to immerse yourself in an innovative Augmented Reality / Virtual Reality application. It was created in collaboration with the IoT company Device Insight, in which KUKA also holds a stake.

Stay up to date: Until the opening ceremony of Hannover Messe 2018, we will keep you informed of the latest developments and planned applications via this site. During the trade fair, we will offer you comprehensive reporting including live streams, interviews and videos on our website and our social media channels.

KUKA Innovation Award for young research teams

Ranging from a collaborative robot workbench with an Augmented Reality interface to an optimized robot controller using neural networks, exciting concepts for the KUKA Innovation Award 2018 were sent in by young scientists from around the world under the motto of “Real-World Interaction Challenge” addressing the topic of safe human-robot collaboration.

Five teams have made it to the finals. They are currently working on implementing their concepts using KUKA robots. An international jury of experts will select the winners of the scientific competition and award the 20,000 euro prize at the KUKA booth on 26 April 2018.
