The Responsibilities

  • Accountable for driving all types of sales in the Automotive product Tier 1 supplier arena on existing & assigned accounts and to improve sales efficiency & effectiveness by meeting & exceeding sales & revenue targets.

  • Work as part of the KUKA UK automotive product team and reporting to the Senior Sales Manager this person will work collaboratively with the KUKA Systems & Robotics teams

  • The Tier 1 product Sales Manager will play a proactive role in collaborating with the OEM Sales Manager in account planning including defining an account strategy for Tier 1 accounts, Year-on-Year sales growth expectations for KUKA products, and taking a proactive role in driving new products & technology

  • The Tier 1 product Sales Manager is expected to stay close to delivery status / challenges of jobs in their portfolio as he/she maintains relationships with client stakeholders.

  • Remain connected with delivery counterparts and provide support from a relationship perspective, as needed

  • Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring and enforcing policies and procedure

  • Provide technical support to external and internal customers

  • Resolve operational problems related to projects and minimize delays or unexpected cost increases

  • Responsible for project success whether project leader requirements are observed for all work completed.

  • Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed for all work completed 

  • To liaise with German and UK management in the setting of sales targets and strategy

  • Interpret client requirements, identify and address design parameters and engineering problems and ensure solutions are implemented accurately and within budget.

  • Analyse project requirements and perform technical calculations supporting design including electrical requirements, robotic safety standards and motor controls

  • Proven experience in a rapidly growing set of accounts

  • Client relationship management and client acumen

  • Contract management, negotiations and financial management

  • Proven capability to building relationships with Senior Managers/Advanced Manufacturing Engineers /Director level client contacts

  • Strategic Account Management and Project Management experience

  • Solid understanding of new/Digital Technology and its impact on business and applications

  • Good understanding of UK automotive industry specific business issues and drivers

  • Proposal/RFP creation and leading RFP/proposal presentations

  • Team player, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills

  • Passionate about learning new skills & technology

  • Extensive experience in sales, relationship management and account management in the automotive industry with top tier 1 supplier relationships
    Minimum Bachelor’s degree. Additional MBA degree preferred

  • 3-5 years related job experience

  • Proficient with MS office, SAP & Sales Force

  • Efficiently organise and plan work tasks to meet company goals
