Changing of the guard at KUKA: Dr. Horst J. Kayser takes helm of KUKA Aktiengesellschaft on October 1, 2008
There was a generational change recently at KUKA. On October 1, 2008, Dr. Horst J. Kayser (47) took over as CEO and Labor Director of KUKA Aktiengesellschaft
October 7, 2008
The company's Supervisory Board had appointed Dr. Kayser to the position effective October 1, 2008 in its meeting of June 9, 2008 (see KUKA press release dated June 9, 2008).
Dr. Horst J. Kayser succeeds Mr. Gerhard Wiedemann (62) as CEO. The latter retired on September 30, 2008, after more than thirty years of successfully contributing to the KUKA Group's success. Mr. Wiedemann will advice the Executive Board until the end of March 2009.
Dr. Kayser sees the task of successfully leading and growing a leading worldwide supplier of robotics and systems with more than 5,000 employees as an exciting challenge. In commenting on his appointment, Dr. Kayser said: "KUKA's flexible automation solutions are successfully established in the marketplace. The company meets all the preconditions and has the potential to assume a leading international position. I have taken on the task of tapping this potential and am looking forward to the assignment."
