KUKA supplies 500 industrial robots to Ford South America
After receiving a major order from Ford in Brazil in June 2010 for the construction of a complete body-in-white production line, KUKA was now also able to win the order to supply the associated industrial robots
October 20, 2010
The contract calls for KUKA to supply 430 robots to the Brazilian Ford factories Camacari and São Bernardo do Campo (SBC) by December 2012, where they will be used primarily for car body spot welding, material transport and for sealing and dosing applications. Ford may order an additional 70 industrial robots for its factory in Pacheco, Argentina.
"Ford is now counting on KUKA robots in the growth region of South America as well as in Europe," said Dr. Till Reuter, CEO of KUKA AG. "As a result, our Robotics and Systems divisions have both been able to expand their automotive industry market share in this region."
