Award for visionary charging solution

The charging assistant for electric vehicles was developed together with FORWARDttc and impressed the jury of the Robotics Award 2019 at this year's Hanover trade show. "For some things you need a little imagination, but sometimes that's what visionary ideas are all about. We were able to put our imagination into action with our partner and won the second place at the Robotics Award 2019 with our versatile and future-oriented solution," says Norbert Settele, Project Manager at KUKA.

The market share of electric vehicles is rising continuously, and as a result also the demand for automation of the charging process. Intelligent, automated charging technologies are constantly being developed. "As of today, the charging assistant is a comfort mode. If the majority of vehicles are able to park autonomously, the added value of the system becomes clearer," continues Settele. In the future, the driver will be able to get off at the front door and open the garage door by pushing the button, park the car and finally charge it automatically.

For the ninth time now HANNOVER MESSE will present the ROBOTICS AWARD – the prize for applied robotics solutions – under the patronage of Minister Dr. Bernd Althusmann, Lower Saxony State Minister of the Economy, Labour, Transport and Digitalization. This prestigious award has been presented on behalf of HANNOVER MESSE in cooperation with the Robotation Academy and the trade journal Industrieanzeiger in recognition of the applied robotics solutions of international companies.
