Hard-fought points for Lucas di Grassi in Rome

In a spectacular race which featured a delay of nearly an hour due to a massive crash just after the start, Audi driver Lucas di Grassi fought his way up from a starting position of 13 to finish seventh.

Lucas di Grassi and his Audi e-tron FE05 take valuable points in Rome towards the championship.

“Following on an extremely tough qualifying session, it was a good race for me,” said di Grassi.

“To win the title, we have to take points regularly – even if we aren’t always able to contend for the win. That’s exactly what we did today.”

Daniel Abt comes away with no points for the first time in the current Formula E season

For the first time in the current season, Daniel Abt came away with no points. The German had to content himself with a starting position of 17 after a technical problem during the qualifying session. During the race, he lost any chance he had for a good finish as his Audi e-tron FE05 once had to be restarted. With seven of the 13 races now complete, Lucas di Grassi is still only seven points behind the top of the table – meaning there is still lots of excitement to come in the championship.

Formula E continues on 27 April with the E-Prix in Paris.
