Cobotar, the perfect complement
For OEM Automatic, KUKA's cobots are a perfect complement to their other range of industrial automation products. Among other things, they are targeting the easy-to-use and versatile LBR iisy cobot.
- ‘With this co-operation, we can now offer it and KUKA's other cobots directly to our customers here in Norway. These are very competitive products,’ says Martin Stensland, Product Manager at OEM Automatic in Norway.

Leading suppliers of components for industrial automation
The company, founded in Tranås, is one of Europe's leading suppliers of components for industrial automation with over 50,000 items in its catalogue. Since its inception in 1974, OEM Automatic has grown into an international group. OEM International has over 1000 employees in 15 countries and a turnover of over 5 billion.
In Norway, OEM Automatic has its headquarters in Drammen.
For KUKA, the collaboration means another strong sales channel in the Nordic region and part of a strategy to continue to increase its market share in the region. ‘We have long observed how efficiently and well OEM Automatic works to increase its presence in the market,’ says Kim Reeslev, Sales Director General Industry at KUKA Nordic.
- For us, it is a great advantage to be able to take part in that skill, says Frode Grimsbø, Country Sales Manager at KUKA Norway.
A co-operation of this kind, with an external distributor rather than a system integrator, is particularly suitable when it comes to collaborative robots.

The cobot fit in very well in OEM:s catalogue
This kind of co-operation, with an external distributor rather than a system integrator, is particularly suitable for collaborative robots. The cobot does not require advanced programming or other specialised skills; instead, it learns its movements by being guided by the operator's hands. A product that is thus well suited as a commodity.
- ‘KUKA's cobots are of a high standard and fit in very well with the other items in our catalogue, so it's good that we've been able to extend the collaboration to Norway,’ says Vegar Haugland, product manager at OEM Automatic in Drammen.
