KUKA Nordic relocates to Raufoss Industrial Park

‘For us, this is exactly the right place to be. In Raufoss, we are even closer to many of our customers, while also becoming part of the strong technology environment that exists there,’ says Frode Grimsbø, Sales Manager for KUKA Nordic Norway.

Raufoss, a place to grow.

The decision to relocate the Norwegian office to Raufoss Industrial Park is strategic. Not only because of its proximity to important customers, but also because the industrial park is the centre of one of Norway's largest technology environments for production and automation. Raufoss Industrial Park has an ecosystem for automation and manufacturing, and this flow gives KUKA the opportunity to become a stronger partner for both existing and new customers. "It's a very good place for us to be. In Raufoss, we can establish contacts with both customers and suppliers, while growing and developing our team,‘ says Frode Grimsbø. ’We are now moving towards a more integrated and AI-driven future, and new technology is becoming increasingly important throughout the robot's life cycle, from planning and simulation to maintenance," he says.

Focusing on growth

There are big ambitions for growth in Norway and the Nordic region, and the move to Raufoss Industrial Park is a step in that direction. The Nordic team has grown in line with the brand's increased market share and now has a number of employees in sales, service and technical support.

AI drives the future

The term digital twins is often used in connection with automation. However, Frode Grimsbø prefers another term: digital originals. He believes that this gives a more accurate picture of how the tools are actually used in practice. "For us, it's about creating fully functional digital models that customers can use to simulate, test and adjust before anything is physically implemented. We are now moving towards a more integrated and AI-driven future, and new technology is becoming increasingly important throughout the robot's life cycle, from planning and simulation to maintenance," he says.
The process of establishing ourselves in Raufoss Industrial Park has been very efficient. It all started during a visit on Supplier Day. From the initial contact to the signing of the lease agreement, they have catered to our specific needs, says Grimsbø. The park has not only offered suitable premises, but has also arranged for the necessary renovations to ensure that the premises meet our needs. The flexible approach has made the process easier and faster and has helped KUKA move into tailor-made premises in a short period of time. The move is a clear signal to take the next step, with a focus on service, technical innovation and continued close cooperation with both new and existing customers throughout the Nordic region.
