Robotic Solid Wood Bedframe Assembly with KUKA & RoboFrame from Industrial Robotics, UAB

In a major step toward smarter and more efficient manufacturing, the RoboFrame project has successfully implemented an advanced assembly solution powered by KUKA industrial robotics. The initiative demonstrates how intuitive automation can transform labor intensive workflows into stable, high performance production processes.

A Smarter Approach to Modern Manufacturing

The customer faced a familiar challenge: manual assembly tasks that demanded significant operator skill, slowed production, and introduced variability in quality. To overcome these limitations, the project team deployed a fully automated assembly system built on KUKA’s proven robotic platform. Using projector guided component placement, operators simply load the jigs while the KUKA robots execute the remaining steps with consistent precision. The system’s no programming required software ensures that even complex tasks can be performed reliably, without adding operational burden.

Delivering Measurable Improvements

The results of the RoboFrame project highlight the tangible value of intuitive automation:
Significantly reduced training time for new operators
Lower risk of operator related errors
Higher stability and predictability in daily production
A more efficient and reliable assembly flow across the entire line

By simplifying operator interaction and standardizing critical steps, the solution has strengthened both productivity and long term process quality.

A Partnership Built on Reliability and Performance

“For the RoboFrame project, we chose to work with KUKA due to their fast technical support and highly versatile solutions. The application required a robot with a long reach and the ability to handle a relatively heavy end of arm tool together with the product itself. The KR 120 R3100 proved to be an ideal fit for these requirements. In fact, we’ve found this model to be highly adaptable and well suited to a wide range of our robotic applications, making it a reliable choice across multiple projects.”, Ugnius Vygėlis, Head of Sales Industrial Robotics UAB
