KR TITAN ultra: KUKA sets new standards in heavy-duty automation
With the KR TITAN ultra, KUKA is expanding its portfolio for demanding heavy-duty applications. The robot combines enormous reach with precise dynamics, opening up new possibilities in automotive manufacturing, battery and large component handling, and heavy logistics. Shortly after its market launch, it was delivered for integration to PIA Automation at an automotive customer.
February 24, 2026
The KR TITAN ultra was designed for maximum performance with extreme loads: a payload of up to 1,500 kg and a reach of up to 4,200 mm with a payload of 1,000 kg enables the safe and efficient handling of large, heavy components such as battery packs, car body modules, and tools.
Performance class redefined
The robust mechanics and precise motion control address processes in which stability, repeatability, and cycle time are equally important. "With the KR TITAN ultra, we are setting a new standard in the heavy-duty segment. The combination of payload, reach, and modular structure opens up completely new automation possibilities for our customers," explains Maximilian Pettkuhn, Product Manager at KUKA.
With its long reach and dynamic performance, the KR TITAN ultra sets new standards in heavy-duty automation
Following the market launch of the most powerful version with a payload of 1,500 kg and a reach of 3,200 mm last year, two additional models are available since mid-January – with a payload of 1,000 kg and reaches of 4,200 mm and 3,700 mm. This allows integrators and end users to choose flexibly between different ranges depending on the application. The modular design concept facilitates planning, commissioning, and service throughout the entire life cycle.

Efficiency, precision, and low TCO
Thanks to its double link arm, the KR TITAN ultra offers outstanding moment of inertia and particularly stable kinematics. The design enables low TCO values over the entire life cycle, supported by minimal maintenance requirements and energy-efficient components.
The new KR TITAN ultra is a powerful partner, especially in automotive manufacturing.
Strong signal from Augsburg
The KR TITAN ultra marks an important strategic step for KUKA in the heavy-duty segment and underlines its claim to provide the strongest KUKA robot. Positive market response is already evident in initial projects – including an order from the automotive sector shortly after market launch, which is being implemented with PIA Automation. KUKA is thus sending a clear signal for productive, scalable, and safe automation solutions "Made in Augsburg."
