Hello Industrie 4.0 - we go digital
Augsburg/Hannover, April 2016 – KUKA is getting customers ready for the fourth industrial revolution. KUKA is showcasing solutions for the factory of the future under the slogan “Hello Industrie 4.0 – we go digital”. From 25 to 29 April, the automation specialist will show numerous aspects of the industrial digitization at Hannover Messe.
Added value through digitization
KUKA is getting customers ready for the fourth industrial revolution, at any point state of development of their digitization concept. This can range from the initial idea to a concrete project and up to turnkey production 4.0. At Hannover Messe, KUKA will be bringing abstract terms such as the Cloud, Big Data and the Smart Factory to life through real solutions and application examples. It will also be demonstrating the added value that customers can glean from the digitization megatrend. As part of this, conventional high-tech solutions go hand in hand with the latest services from the IT world.
A look into the factory of the future
In the Smart Factory, machines produce individual products to order in a fully automated and networked manner. KUKA is also allowing a look into the Smart Factory and demonstrating how cloud computing and networking can help to minimize downtimes and service costs. The booth concept also addresses the safe handling of large amounts of data. And should you require refreshment during your journey through Industrie 4.0: robot baristas can prepare your favorite coffee beverage for you and two automated bartenders can serve you a perfect wheat beer.
New robots for general industry
At the world’s largest industrial trade fair, KUKA is also presenting a new robot specially tailored to the requirements of the electronics industry. This sector is one of the world’s largest growth markets for robot-based automation in general industry. With the world premiere of the particularly compact KR 3 AGILUS robot, KUKA is rounding out its product series of agile small robots. Like its big brothers from the KR AGILUS series, this robot performs convincingly with its high speed and outstanding precision. It is even more compact, however, and thus an ideal solu-tion for small cell concepts in confined spaces.
Partner country USA
For years, KUKA has cultivated close business relationships with the USA, this year’s partner country at Hannover Messe. “The United States is an important growth market for us,” notes CEO Dr. Till Reuter. Over 2,000 employees work in the United States. Just recently, KUKA opened a research and development site in Austin, Texas dedicated to the topic of data analytics.
You have to strike out in new directions time and again to further your own innovative strength. This is why KUKA has various holdings in start-up companies. Amongst other holdings, KUKA has a stake in the highly innovative technology company KBee, which will be presenting its latest development, the robot FRANKA EMIKA, in the immediate vicinity of the KUKA booth. “We have thus invested in an innovative robotic concept”, says Dr. Reuter. “Investments such as these give us the freedom to be innovative. Developing and testing products and solutions quickly outside the Group allows us to enter new markets in a targeted and exploratory manner and to generate benefits for customers.”
