Responsibility as an employer

Our success is founded upon productive and motivated employees. KUKA is responsible for more than 15,000 employees worldwide. They work on challenging projects in an international setting that gives them plenty of room for shaping these future topics and their personal careers at KUKA.

As an integrated and global solution provider, KUKA is working on new concepts to further develop the in-house working environment.

KUKA is striving to further improve its attractiveness as an employer. This includes a high-level training and continuing education package, diversity and equal opportunity, measures to reconcile work and family life, high occupational health and safety standards, and health and sports offerings.

KUKA offers its employees a working environment in which career, family and private life can be combined more easily. This includes flexible working time models such as flextime arrangements, home office and vacation care programs.

Daycare center Orange Care

KUKA offers its employees a day care center with 30 places at the company headquarters in Augsburg through the established non-profit organization Orange Care e.V. The establishment of the Orange Care daycare center was a measure to make it easier for working parents to combine work and family life.

Since 2013, children have been well looked after in the Orange Care day care.

Apprenticeship at KUKA

KUKA is ensuring the long-term availability of skilled workers and thus its ability to compete and innovate by offering a wide range of training and further education opportunities. For example, KUKA offers vocational training opportunities at its Augsburg, Obernburg and Bremen sites.  In the vocational training program, KUKA not only provides trainees with technical expertise, but also gives them the opportunity to learn interculturally and to think and act across company boundaries. Trainees can familiarize themselves with the international character of the Group at an early stage and gain experience abroad at other locations, such as in China and the USA.

In addition to the traditional apprenticeships, KUKA offers a dual, training-integrated degree course at the University of Augsburg with the aim of attaining a Bachelor’s degree.

As part of our continuing education programs, we accompany and support KUKA employees in their personal and professional development. At our KUKA Academy, we offer all of our employees an extensive and varied range of technical/methodical and personal further education courses. Because only through shared knowledge and everyone’s performance can we continue to grow and further expand our market position as a technology corporation.

Occupational health and safety are an essential requirement for ensuring that business operations run safely and efficiently in manufacturing companies like KUKA. Appropriate management systems and general awareness of occupational health and safety not only serve to protect the health of employees, but also affect the success of our company.

Occupational health and safety is therefore firmly embedded in management systems and supported in some cases by external certifications at the major locations of KUKA Group. Most of the production locations are geared to the international management standard OHSAS 18001, which also plays an important role in supplier audits.
