Hybrid force-visual control (University of Alberta)

The young team of the Department of Computing Science at the University of Alberta has developed a unique hybrid force-visual control architecture for path following and contact control on 3D surfaces. It lets the user input a drawing or signature which then will be projected onto a 3D surface. There, the surface information gets extracted from vision sensors. The robot then follows the path and writes the pattern on the surface.

Autograph card automat (KUKA)

Imagine having your favorite scientist writing you an autograph – through a robot!

Our autograph card automat can be teached to do exactly that: learn and write signatures. Just put the autograph card onto the surface and let our KUKA robot do the trick. All this is accompagnied by a presentation attuned to the celebrity whose hand signature the machine is mimicking.
