Robotics for Sustainable Development

IROS is one of the largest and most important conferences in the field of robotics. Under the motto “Robotics for Sustainable Development”, around 5000 representatives from research and industry gather to discuss how to achieve the sustainability goals in the field of robotics. The program is widely diversified: Research approaches to sustainable development will be presented in plenary lectures, workshops and technical sessions. In competitions, interactive forums and the accompanying exhibition, participants will also have the opportunity to exchange ideas and present new products.

Robotics to touch

"Immersion" is the result of a collaboration between KUKA and Creative Robotics, an interdisciplinary research unit based in Linz, Austria. This playful, interactive solution uses two KUKA LBR iisy and a large screen to immerse visitors in a gamified 3D environment. Inspired by VR experiences but taken one step further, visitors can use intuitive hand guiding to effortlessly control two collaborative robots simultaneously, navigating through a 3D world.
