Automated Material Handling. But Easier.
KUKA Showcases Advanced AMR Technology for Easier Material Handling Automation at MODEX 2026 in Booth #B15132
Supply Chain and Material Handling Innovation
MODEX 2026
Atlanta, Georgia
April 13-16, 2026
KUKA Booth: B15132
KUKA Technology at MODEX
At MODEX 2026, KUKA will partner with ABCO Automation and Hyperion Automation showcase its broad portfolio of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) designed for seamless automation integration. Attendees can visit KUKA in Booth #B15132 to see live demonstrations of advanced AMR solutions, including the debut of the KMP 250P autonomous mobile platform, that simplifies material handling and improves operational efficiency.
The booth will feature live demonstrations of several KUKA AMR models, including the KMP 250P, KMP 600P, KMP 1500P and KMP 3000P. These AMRs range in payload from 250 to 3,000 kg, and they fully integrate with the KUKA.AMR FLEET software for managing a facility’s autonomous vehicles. The display will also include AMRs interacting with a KR IONTEC palletizing robot, demonstrating the speed, flexibility and efficiency of KUKA’s automated palletizing solutions for safer, more efficient material handling.
The KMP 1500P supports transportation and logistics processes with a 60 mm lift stroke, precision positioning and a payload capacity of up to 1.5 tons. Using built-in identification technology and QR code readers, the AMR can lift and transport a wide range of load carriers, making it easy to integrate into existing production and warehouse environments.
For heavy-duty performance, the KMP 3000P handles payloads of up to 3 tons with millimeter precision. With the same advanced safety provisions as the KMP 1500P, the KMP 3000P is designed to operate safely alongside people while transporting heavy loads using its omnidirectional movement system, which enhances its ability to maneuver into tight spaces, using a “crabwalk” motion for smooth lateral movement.
The KMP 250P is a compact, highly maneuverable AMR designed for flexible deployment. With differential drive technology, the KMP 250P offers excellent maneuverability, and each unit can lift a 250-kg load. The conductive charging station and optional inductive charging solutions ensure continuous operation with minimal interruption.
KUKA’s KMP 600P is a compact AMR that can transport up to 600 kg and is particularly suitable for production environments with limited space. It improves storage processes, increases the flexibility of assembly lines and makes material flow more efficient in complex industrial environments.
The ABCO MPS cell relies on a KR IONTEC robot for flexible, versatile palletizing and depalletizing.
Modular Palletizing Cell (MPS) by ABCO
The KUKA booth will feature ABCO Automation’s MPS-P modular palletizing system, a compact, high-performance palletizing cell designed for fast deployment and flexible automation. Built around the KR IONTEC palletizing robot (KR50-R2500), the system can handle case up to 10 cases per minute within a small footprint that fits directly inside a truck and can be installed in about an hour. Its modular design supports features such as pallet dispensers, slip-sheet feeding, pallet conveying.
This system will be integrated with a KMP 1500P mobile platform, which autonomously delivers and removes pallets from the cell to streamline end-of-line material flow. The demonstration will also highlight random palletizing and depalletizing using a Keyence RB1200 vision system to identify varying package sizes and placement, along with pallet inspection using Keyence LJ-series sensors to detect defects before pallets enter the process. ABCO’s MyABCO platform further enhances the system with remote monitoring, communication and troubleshooting capabilities to help minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.
AMR Integration by Hyperion
Hyperion Automation will join KUKA at MODEX 2026 to showcase custom integration capabilities for KUKA’s AMR solutions, including top-modules with custom tooling, chain conveyor top-modules, chain-conveyor AMR docks, and software integrations. Top modules are the custom-engineered components that sit on top of AMRs to add application-specific functionality (e.g., conveyors for material transfer, platforms for load handling, or specialized fixtures for unique workflows). Hyperion's engineering team designs these modules to integrate seamlessly with KUKA technology, ensuring they meet the precision, safety, and performance standards that facilities demand. “We are excited to once again join KUKA at MODEX. Working alongside KUKA to bring their AMR lineup to life at MODEX is a great example of what we do best, which is taking world-class technology and engineering the custom hardware and software integrations that make it ready for real-world applications,” said Hyperion Automation Vice President Troy Mohrland.
