2008. november 25.
Both the overall award and the award in the product innovation category went to KUKA. In recent years, the Manufacturing Excellence Award (MX Award) has become one of the most important prizes for the processing industry in Germany.
Pioneering best practice concepts within the German corporate landscape were rewarded with the Manufacturing Excellence Award in the Bertelsmann offices in Berlin. The independent jury is made up of high-ranking representatives from the worlds of science, industry and the media. The competition is sponsored by the Financial Times Deutschland and Berlin Technical University.
Successful in Germany
The aim of the MX competition is to promote an exchange of experiences between science and industrial practice and thus to strengthen Germany as a production location. KUKA Roboter has proved that innovation and production within Germany are possible, and is thus clearly acting as a model to others.
The jury felt that, in comparison with other companies, KUKA Roboter GmbH has set new standards in customer orientation and product innovation. Following its inspection of the factory, the inspection committee stated that the company also met the criteria for tidiness, cleanliness, use of illustration and standardisation in every respect.
KUKA Roboter combines practical customer-orientation with the latest technology. Because of its close global collaboration with universities, KUKA and its customers are way ahead of their competitors when it comes to process engineering.
KUKA quality wins out
With its major research projects, technological developments and successful product designs, KUKA has been a dominant force in robotics for 35 years. As innovation leader the company has won many prizes over the years. The presentation of the MX Award, however, is a very special confirmation of the effectiveness of the company.
