A wild ride at the Victory Gate

KUKA to join the festivities in Munich on the Day of German Unity

1 October, 2012

Augsburg/ Munich, October 1, 2012 – Munich will lure visitors this year with wild roller coaster rides on the Day of German Unity – not only at Oktoberfest, but also at Ländermeile, Germany's "all-nations mall" around the Odeonsplatz. KUKA's Robocoaster 4D Simulator guarantees visitors will have a fantastic time during the celebrations on October 2 and 3. When they hop on board the world's only passenger robot, an HD video, 3-D motion and realistic sounds will serve to simulate the experience of skiing down the Garmisch Kandahar run, flying across the Zugspitze, Germany's highest mountain, and a roller coaster ride.

The festivities will be centered around Munich's "Ländermeile", which is also where KUKA will present its "Made in Bavaria" products. KUKA will have a large booth in front of the university as well as a presence in the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs tent.

Celebrating together in the free state of Bavaria

Bavaria will host the festivities on the Day of German Unity 2012 and will hold the traditional national celebration in the vicinity of Munich's Odeonsplatz. All sixteen German states will participate, under the heading "Celebrating Together in the Free State of Bavaria". Members of the federal legislature and the ministers of the various states are expected to attend the festivities on October 2 and 3.

A lucky individual to win a free wild robocoasterride

The Bavarian Ministry of Economics will hold a draw in its festival tent for Robocoaster rides. An energy-saving KR QUANTEC robot will let visitors know how they can win a ride on its colleague, the Robocoaster.

KUKA aims to demonstrate the versatility of its innovations from Augsburg with the showcased machines. The company's robots are also used to assemble cars, palletize food, produce the most delicate glass products and carry out precision tasks in the aerospace industry – not to mention provide thrilling rides in amusement parks and at celebrations.
