KUKA invites former employees for a visit

Nearly 700 former KUKA employees came for a visit last Saturday to get a first-hand impression of how the company has evolved

8 décembre 2011

As they toured the factory in Lechhausen, they had a look at their former workplace and the changes that have been made.

All had completely different assignments, but regardless of whether it was designing welding systems, developing robots or long ago even installing typewriters, they'd had one thing in common: working for KUKA. In fact, the company presently known for its systems and robotics has a long and rich history, during the course of which many different products were developed before the focus shifted to automation. "It's nice to be back again," said one former KUKA employee. "I have been retired for twenty years, but always wondered what it was like at KUKA behind the scenes."

Now, after the doors opened in the morning, the former staff was able to peek behind the curtains. Gingerbread and punch was on hand so that they could gather strength for the tour through the halls of the company. There were many memories and stories to be related and there was lots of time for exchanges with old colleagues - at latest when they all sat down to have lunch together. Coffee and cake were served at the end of the day and a small memento presented to remind them of the open house for many years to come - all the former KUKA employees had their picture taken with a KUKA robot, which they were able to take home immediately.
