Stronger together: the necessity of strong partners

On Tuesday 26 March KUKA Automatisering + Robots N.V. in Houthalen opened its doors for its System Partners. These are selected robot integrators with whom KUKA has a close and qualitative cooperation. Such partnerships have become necessary in the light of the increasing demands in the market. After all, companies do not have to know and be able to do everything alone. By sharing their experiences and know-how, both KUKA and its partners can help customers in a much more efficient way. Sharing this knowledge was precisely what the Official KUKA System Partner event was all about.
In 2019 KUKA will launch several new hardware and software products such as KUKA.HMI Easy, KSS 8.5, KUKA.PickControl, the new KR QUANTEC and the new KUKA SmartPAD. System Partners received a brief explanation of this, followed by a product demonstration.

Design now your own Human Machine Interface

KUKA.HMI Easy stands for Human Machine Interface and as the name suggests, this software is used to create your own HMI in a very simple way. This can be done by adding images and certain buttons. Another big advantage of HMI Easy is that you can easily adjust and view the process parameters via visualization without any required robot knowledge. This means for example that you can easily control a gripper or start or stop the robot. A very handy software tool!
KUKA.HMI Easy makes it even easier to configure your own HMI or adjust process parameters.

Improved KUKA System Software

KSS (KUKA System Software) 8.5 is the successor of the 8.3 version. Thanks to this update, KUKA can offer improved and simplified collision detection to its customers when purchasing a robot. KSS 8.5 is free of charge with each robot. In KSS 8.5, KUKA has also introduced different operator rights, depending on the operator level that each operator has. This means for example that an operator without any robot knowledge is not able to accidentally change the programmed path of the robot. An operator who does have this knowledge and logs in with his data can change this. A software package that is very desirable for any company.

New software package for picking and packaging applications

The last software product that KUKA System Partners got to know was KUKA.PickControl. KUKA.PickControl is a special software package that coordinates and synchronises picking and packaging operations with multiple robots and different pick & place locations. Thanks to the integrated simulation tool, you can simulate your entire production beforehand and you know exactly how many robots are required at a certain conveyor speed in order to achieve the desired production capacity.
KUKA.PickControl is a special software package that enables picking and packaging applications.
Because all software packages were explained via short demonstrations, the KUKA System Partners immediately got to know the products hands-on. This also gave them the opportunity to specifically ask their questions to the experts at KUKA. Both KUKA and its System Partners agree that this event only promotes cooperation between the companies.
