Lead managed by KUKA Roboter GmbH, Europe's leading robot manufacturers, system integrators, research institutes and universities have been working intensively over the last three years on the future of robotics. The "Who's Who“ of European robotics – 130 leading institutions from industry and science – has developed a future model of robots in society, with the help of the CARE project (Coordination Action for Robotics in Europe) which is supported by the European Commission. EUROP has now presented the results to the public. Dr. Kayser, President of EUROP, speaking in the presence of a number of high-ranking representatives from science and politics, emphasized the outstanding importance of robotics: "The technologies to be developed in the future will not only influence and dominate the sector – they will also change and simplify the entire economy and public life through the new application possibilities“.
