European Robotics Week 2018 in Augsburg

From 16 to 25 November, the Fuggerstadt turned into an innovation hotspot: The central event of the European Robotics Week took place in Augsburg.

Robotics for you: The European Robotics Week

The European Robotics Week (ERW) is an initiative of the European Robotics Association euRobotics. The aim is to bring the topic of robotics to the public, to reduce reservations and to familiarize people with new technologies. At the end of November, everything will revolve around robotics and automation in direct cooperation with humans. In addition, topics such as the future of work, care and our consumer behaviour will also be discussed.

Throughout Europe, various robotics activities will be taking place during ERW's theme week. Industrial companies, associations and research institutes that deal with the topics of robotics and automation invite interested parties to various activities and events during this week.

The central event in Augsburg

Every year, the initiators of the European Robotics Week choose a different European city as the venue for the central opening event. The selection criteria are both the situation and its significance in the European robotics community. Augsburg was chosen because the Fuggerstadt, embedded in the economic region of Bavaria, combines tradition and innovation and is home to numerous technology companies.

Augsburg looks back on a long economic and industrial history, combining tradition and technology. It is precisely this combination that forms the basis for the success of numerous regional technology companies such as KUKA. These companies are locally rooted and acting globally successful.

Events for all ages

In addition to the opening event with well-known guests, exhibitions, lectures and activities for adults and children will be offered throughout ERW.
