KUKA received an order from china´s largest manufacture of commercial vehicles for 250 robots

Augsburg, December 10, 2013: KUKA Robotics China has received an order worth a single-digit million euro figure to supply more than 250 industrial robots. The customer, Beijing Automotive Foton Motor Co., Ltd., plans to use the KUKA robots of the KR QUANTEC series with the KR C4 controller to manufacture automobiles. The robots will carry out handling and adhesive bonding tasks as well as spot and laser welding work.

With registered assets totaling over CNY 30 billion, Foton is the largest manufacturer of commercial vehicles in China. The company employs about 40,000 people worldwide. “By choosing us as their robot manufacturer, Foton is committing to top quality – and to direct collaboration in the domestic market, since we will be handling the order at our Shanghai plant,” stated Bing Kong, CEO of KUKA Robotics China.

KUKA is opening the new production facility in December. In addition to subsidiary headquarters in Shanghai, KUKA has four branch offices in China with sales and service units.
