Experience robotics at KUKA

What do we need robots for? What can they do? What are the trends in automation? During the week of events, KUKA employees will be sharing their specialist knowledge and enthusiasm for future technologies with children, young people and adults. They will be highlighting the broad spectrum of robotics and explaining the advantages of automation.
“Getting youngsters interested in technology” – with this slogan, KUKA is inviting secondary school classes to visit the company, while KUKA employees will be out visiting kindergartens and primary schools to share their fascination in robotics with even the youngest children. KUKA is also issuing an open invitation to anyone interested in the following events:

ROBOTICS PRESENTATION FOR CHILDREN

KUKA employees will be offering children an unforgettable experience on three afternoons with the small, mobile robot KUKA youBot. Following a child-friendly, interactive presentation, providing insights into the world of robotics, the children themselves will be able to get to grips with the controller and control the KUKA youBot. The 90-minute event is suitable for children aged six to twelve. 
It is being held on Monday, 24 November 2014, at 3.30 p.m., Wednesday, 26 November 2014, at 3.30 p.m. and Friday, 28 November 2014, at 3.00 p.m. at the KUKA plant at Zugspitzstrasse 140, D-86165 Augsburg. Parents will have the opportunity to wait for their children over coffee and cake in the company canteen. Evening Event for Everyone, Part IV: “The new robot generation – Versatile assembly systems with human-robot collaboration”
On Tuesday, 25 November 2014, at 7.00 p.m., KUKA is inviting interested adults to a presentation at KUKA College, Hery Park 3000, Gersthofen. The speaker, Henning Borkeloh (Head of Advanced Technology Solutions at KUKA), will be providing insights into current developments and future trends in robotics. In his fascinating expert lecture, he will be explaining how the role of robots is changing and how KUKA is tapping new fields of application with the new KUKA LBR iiwa robot generation. The focus here will be on applications in the field of human-robot collaboration. A demonstration is also planned. Anyone who wants to learn more about the current trends in robotics is welcome. ABOUT EUROPEAN ROBOTICS WEEK

European Robotics Week has been held annually throughout Europe in the last week of November since 2011. The European research community euRobotics initiated the themed week to educate the public about robotics, focus on the significance, benefits and necessity of automation, and highlight the high-quality, innovative research and development work of European institutes, universities and the industrial sector. Another important goal is to arouse the interest of young people in the sciences. The trend towards automation is continuing worldwide, with the result that ever more specialists will be required in the field of robotics in the future, and particularly in research and development positions.
