KUKA receives major order from FAW-Volkswagen Automotive in China
KUKA has acquired a major order in the double-digit million euro range from the joint venture FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd. in China. The order was booked in the fourth quarter of 2018.

The project involves the construction of an assembly line for the manufacture of an MEB (modular electrification kit) platform battery. The degree of automation in this system is very high at over 70 percent. The automated processes include module assembly, gluing and screw feeding. The system will be integrated into the existing production plant in Foshan.
Peter Mohnen, CEO of KUKA AG, comments: “This is the first joint project with our customer in the battery business in the Chinese market. It will help us to further strengthen our market position in Asia and make battery production more lucrative for our customers.”
