KUKA wins two large orders for Swisslog from well-known retail companies in Scandinavia and Southeast Asia

In addition to the order from the Norwegian Coop, a wholesaler of 87 Norwegian cooperative groups, Swisslog has received another major order from BLU, a logistic start-up in Singapore.

28 March 2019

The order value of both orders amounts to a total volume of more than 20 million euros. Both orders were booked in the fourth quarter of 2018.

Coop is the second largest retailer in Norway and responsible for the procurement, logistics, chain management and marketing of six food chains and two non-food chains, among other things. Swisslog was commissioned with the comprehensive automation of the warehouse in Langhus. The delivery includes a high-bay pallet warehouse with six Vectura stacker cranes and a conveyor system, which are controlled by the intelligent Swisslog software SynQ. The new distribution center will be in full operation at the beginning of 2021.

BLU, an e-commerce startup in Singapore, was founded in 2015 and has commissioned Swisslog to expand its intralogistics system to automate its warehouse. The new system will be rebuilt together with an existing system. The project includes the planning and implementation of a robotic storage and order picking solution, including conveyor technology and in-house SynQ software, and will be operational by the end of 2019.

“With our intelligent automation solutions, controlled by our in-house software SynQ as the centerpiece, we are a leading intralogistics provider,” explains Dr. Christian Baur, COO of Swisslog Group and CEO of Swisslog Logistics Automation.

With these orders, we are proving our global competence in the field of logistics automation.
