Less sweating during welding – more efficiency

“Your gateway to a smarter future” is the motto of this year's EuroBLECH. In times of a shortage of skilled workers and ever-increasing demands, automation is definitely a smart solution for welding work. KUKA offers specialized solutions for welding and supports companies with the suitable robots, controllers and software. From spot welding to TIG welding, MIG/MAG welding, laser and laser hybrid welding to friction stir welding, KUKA supports companies on their path to greater productivity. Case studies, ideas and specific offers can be found at EuroBLECH.

A green welding process for e-mobility

Environmentally friendly thanks to low energy consumption, ready for use without fume extraction or anti-glare measures: As a green technology, friction stir welding (FSW) is the optimum welding process for non-ferrous metals with low melting temperatures or for mixed metallic joints. In e-mobility in particular, this technology has become established for welding battery housings, as the weld seam meets the high requirements for tightness and crash behavior. Robot-based friction stir welding can also be used in a very flexible way while keeping investment costs low compared to gantry systems. See our application modules for yourself at EuroBLECH 2022 in Hanover.

Friction stir welding is advancing electromobility, as it is at a large car manufacturer in Portugal.
KUKA cell4_arc: Optimally matched components and proven standards from the field of arc welding make the KUKA MIG/MAG cell the ideal solution for your welding automation requirements.

KUKA cell4_arc – easy to program and operate

Depending on the component size and production volume, our fully automated KUKA cell4_arc arc welding cell is equipped with manual or automatic positioners. During the welding process, they ensure cycle-time-parallel loading and unloading and the optimum welding position synchronized with the robot movement. At EuroBLECH 2022 in Hanover, we will be demonstrating how welding processes can be easily programmed and operated – in our cell4_arc midsize with the KR CYBERTECH nano ARC, using future-oriented software such as KUKA.ArcTech. The KUKA ready2_pilot package and KUKA.Sim for simulation and offline programming simplify commissioning and programming.

Discover even more: from KUKA.ServoGun to powerful controller robot duos

At EuroBLECH, trade fair visitors can discover a wide variety of products with which KUKA aims to support the sheet metal working industry and make it more efficient. For example, KUKA.ServoGun, our software for controlling spot-welding guns with electric servo motors. Or the flexible, resource-saving controller robot duos KR C5 and KR IONTEC for laser welding, and KR C5 micro and KR CYBERTECH nano ARC for arc welding.

Moving up to 800 kilograms

You can also get to know the second generation of the KR FORTEC ultra there – it has been specially developed for high payloads and for molds with high inertias. Thus the KR FORTEC ultra-2 can meet the new requirements in the automotive sector with batteries, giga-press castings and increasingly heavy vehicle components. With the new addition to its KR FORTEC robots, KUKA covers the payload range between 240 and 800 kilograms with just one series. It will be launched on the market in 2023 – and you can already discover it now at EuroBLECH!

The new KR FORTEC ultra was specially developed for high payloads and for tools with high inertias.

We are pleased to welcome our customers live at a trade fair again and to present our innovations at the KUKA world of welding. No matter what welding process you want to automate, we have the suitable robots and software for you. Discover your possibilities at EuroBLECH!
