KUKA opens new training center

KUKA opened a new training center in Augsburg on April 30th

04 May 2009

CEO Dr. Horst J. Kayser congratulated the apprentices on their new facility. The new training center on Zusamstrasse in Augsburg-Lechhausen replaces the old building on Blücherstrasse.

Over a period lasting around three years, young adults receive industrial and technical training at the center to become mechatronics workers, industrial mechanics, tool and die makers and electronic technicians. KUKA currently has 127 apprentices – 97 of these are receiving industrial/technical training, 30 are learning skills in trade and commerce-related fields. KUKA is also an association partner for another 18 apprentices from external companies.

KUKA’s new training center increases the number of apprentices the company can train each year from 20 to 30. The new building is 200 sqm larger than the old building and offers apprentices qualified training according to the most advanced concepts and methods. With the new training center KUKA has made a targeted investment in cultivating new talent.

And the KUKA training program has a very good reputation outside of Augsburg as well. In the words of Dr. Kayser at the inauguration, the center represents “training according to innovative methods and the most advanced standards and is an important contribution for the entire region.”
