Inventory Manager

Lead the optimization of regional inventory through inventory control and warehouse procedures, reporting, and execution with focus in the US.


Oversees and plans all activities related to inventory control within a warehouse environment. Leads the optimization of regional (Canada, Mexico, and US) inventory through inventory control and warehouse procedures, reporting, and execution with focus in the US. Develops and tracks related KPIs, maintains properly stored inventory at appropriate levels to meet customer demand and minimize inventory costs.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the inventory levels for the North America region
  • Manages inventory and US warehouse staffing
  • Develops and manages inventory KPIs, including days inventory on hand for the region
  • Provides inventory planning and targets
  • Identifies and manages slow-moving inventory
  • Leads the physical inventory process and improves inventory tracking for the region
  • Identifies opportunities to reduce logistics costs for incoming, internal, and outgoing deliveries for the region
  • Prepares and maintains all US inventory records and liaises with Canada and Mexico to report status and needs to management per required cadence.
  • Compiles and distributes inventory reports and identifies opportunities to automate and streamline reporting
  • Supports shipping preparation and loading strategy and identifies opportunities to improve warehouse processing times and on time delivery for the region
  • Investigates inventory shortages and discrepancies for the region
  • Performs root cause analysis for process corrections/improvements
  • Monitors product standards and implements quality-control programs
  • Optimizes inventory/warehouse layout and storage and generates efficiencies
  • Liaises within the region’s suppliers and Marketing, Customer Service, Spare Parts, and Order Management managers to achieve inventory objectives
  • Guards against pilferage, theft, fraud, and other activities that adversely affect operations
  • Periodically travels to Canada and Mexico for physical inventory and meetings as needed
  • Ensures that health and safety guidelines are followed
  • Adheres to the Quality Systems and participates in continual improvement of Supply Chain and processes in the region.

Application Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Inventory, Warehouse, or Logistics Field and five years of Inventory Management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven experience as Inventory Manager or similar position.
  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with ERP system (SAP experience preferred), MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and the Internet.
  • Well-versed in coordinating inventory operations to ensure received and supplied products are accounted for and able to regulate shipments from warehouse to ensure effective and on-time delivery.
  • Leadership skills required to hire, train, coach, and mentor employees, resolve conflicts, keep employees motivated and on task.
  • Adept at directing and managing the activities of direct reports to meet set objectives.
  • Requires strong organization skills and the ability to manage multiple orders and tasks as well as changing circumstances.
